This museum is located in Nyaung Shwe beside Inle Lake. You can travel to Inle Lake and take a private taxi to this museum. You can also take a boat ride on the lake to reach this museum.HISTORY
This museum was the mansion where Nyaung Shwe Sawbwa once resided. It was converted into a museum later on and opened to tourists. This building was built by Sawbwagyi Sir Sao-Maung in 1913. Multiple chambers can be found in this building, and they are all decorated with intricate sculptures and amazing ancient architecture.
The museum contains items owned by the royal leaders of Shan State. You will find divans, royal attires, personal items and even rare photographs of all the Saw-Bwas displayed in this museum.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
November to February is the best time to visit Inle Lake. The weather is warm and dry. The Phaung Daw Oo festival is held from September to October, so you can go during that time too.
