HIGHLIGHTS

DAY 1 – ARRIVE IN MYITKYINA

On the first day, arrive in Myitkyina in northern Myanmar. Myitkyina can be easily reached by flight from Yangon or Mandalay. Spend the day exploring this city. You can visit the Hsu Taung Pyi Zedi, Sri Saraswati Temple, Kachin Manao Park and Kachin State Cultural Museum.

DAY 2 – TRAVEL TO INDAWGYI LAKE WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Drive to Indawgyi Lake today to visit the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. As you kayak on the lake, watch different bird and animal species go about their daily routines on the shore. You can also take short hikes on the bank, walking among the beautiful trees. Look out for different kinds of turtles and butterflies while you are there. Drive back to Myitkyina at night.

DAY 3 – TRAVEL TO BAGAN

The next destination for wildlife exploration is Nat Ma Taung National Park. To reach there, you will have to first reach Bagan. Fly from Myitkyina to Bagan and enjoy a temple tour. Some of the must-visit temples are Ananda Temple, Shwezigon Pagoda, Shwesandaw Pagoda, Thatbyinnyu Temple, Shwegugyi Temple, Manuha Temple and Dhammayangyi Temple. Visit the town market at night to learn more about the cultural aspects of the country.

DAY 4: VISIT KANPETLET

Today, travel to Kanpetlet, a small town in Chin State. The travel will take around 8 hours. You can find simple homestays and peaceful churches in this town. Enjoy a relaxing walk around the town.

DAY 5: TRIP TO NAT MA TAUNG NATIONAL PARK

Wake up fresh in the morning and start a hike up Nat Ma Taung. You will walk through Nat Ma Taung National Park, one of the principal national parks of the country. Apart from pine, evergreen and deciduous trees, the mountain is home to a large variety of animals. Eventually, you will reach Mindat, a small town located on a mountainous ridge. In the evening, return to Kanpetlet and rest. Travel back to Bagan the next day and fly to Yangon to fly back home, with plenty of sweet memories to bring with you.
