HIGHLIGHTS

  • Visit the heritage market of Myanmar.
  • Balance traditional and contemporary shopping.
  • Add some sightseeing to your Yangon itinerary.

DAY 1 – ARRIVE IN YANGON

Yangon International Airport is well connected to other countries in the world, especially Southeast Asia. Upon arriving, check into your hotel, rest for a while, and head out again to Kandawgyi Lake to enjoy the evening at the park. The park has many places of interest, including several restaurants that sell local as well as western food. Enjoy yourself.

DAY 2: SET OFF ON A SHOPPING SPREE

After breakfast, head to Bogyoke Aung San Market, which is housed inside a colonial building developed in 1926. Before it was renamed after General Aung San, this market was called Scott Market. Today, there are almost 1,600 shops in this market, selling lacquerware, handicrafts, tapestries, wood and ivory carvings, silverware, brassware, silk and cotton fabrics. Do pick up souvenirs from this market. Even if you don’t intend to purchase anything, walking in the market itself is sure to be an memorable experience. You can also enjoy a sumptuous lunch at one of the several food stalls in the market.

After lunch, visit FMI Centre, located right beside Bogyoke Aung San Market. It is an air-conditioned mall where you will find great fashion items. Enjoy!

DAY 3 – MORE SHOPPING

Ready for more? Head to Yuzana Plaza, a popular shopping destination among locals. It is located in Banyar Dala Street. This is an old shopping mall with many shops selling a variety of goods. The ground floor has many wholesale outlets where you can purchase great local stuff. There are pet shops here too. If you are a pet lover, do visit to cuddle a few animals.

Post lunch, head to the 3-storey shopping arcade Blazon Shopping Centre. One of the primary shopping centres in Yangon, it has shops by premium brands such as Adidas, Guess, Shiseido and Esprit. In the evening, head to Chinatown and enjoy some amazing Chinese food before calling it a day.
